YOUTH MINISTRY LEADER NEEDED Times are changing, and there are challenges for all of us. Our teenagers are constantly the target of very mixed messages. Our youth NEED strong, healthy leadership. As parents, we try to steer our kids away from many things that the media promotes. Our Youth Ministry Board has been inactive for some time. A handful of folks have done what is needed to at least get our teens to “Fire-Up” and to provide some youth participation in a worship service now and then. But we are asking each one of you reading this to consider yourself or someone you know, and ask them to step up and help fill this vacancy in our church. The by-laws require a Chairperson and a minimum of three board members to make up the Youth Ministry Board. The Chairperson is responsible for attending a monthly Council meeting. (the second Monday of the month at 6 pm.) He or she brings requests or recommendations to the Council on the behalf of the Youth Ministry Board. An annual budget is also requested once a year. The decision to step into a new role is daunting. I know! When I accepted the position of Vice Chair, I really had no idea what it meant to be on a Church Council. I’ve had great support and I’ve learned so much! It’s added another dimension to my church family life, and the extra time it takes has been manageable. If anyone is interested or has questions, please feel free to call me at 875-4767, or the church office at 875-6591 to talk to Pastor Mike directly. It would be wonderful to breathe new life into a program designed to support and guide our young people...the ones who will take over for all of us one day! Please pray about this and God bless you.
