United Lutheran Church

The history of the United Lutheran Church begins in 1967 with the merger of the Emmanuel (Finnish) and the First Lutheran (Swedish) churches. On August 13, 1967 a special merger service was held at Fortune Lake Bible Camp. The Rev. John Linna was called to serve as Pastor of the newly formed United Lutheran Church. After the merger, Finnish services were continued monthly by Rev. A.H. Saarisuu until 1973. Pastor Linna served as the Pastor, along with several other intern and associate pastors, until his retirement in 2004. Pastor Mike Laakko is the current Pastor of United.
