In August of 1967 the leadership of two congregations, First Lutheran Church (Swedish heritage) and Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Finnish heritage) decided to join together to become one congregation.  It was a brave and bold decision with no certain outcome.  Over sixty-five years later we can look back and say that they were right and the Spirit of God was leading them. 

   Changes continue at United as we decided in October of 2013 that we would share the same pastor with Bethany Lutheran Church in Amasa. Pastor Donald J. Rasner is our pastor.

   Records dating back to the late 1800's are available for genealogy enthusiasts to look over by appointment.  For a small donation of your choice, we will do some research for you.
